Say goodbye to that file of pictures torn from magazines! Houzz is a website and online community about remodeling, interior design, decorating, landscape design and home improvement. The website and app boasts 25 million users per month.

As of December 2014, there were millions of images of home interiors and exteriors on Houzz. Architectural Digest gives it high praise, “This website will stoke your imagination.” Users can browse photos by room, style, location and bookmark photos into their own personal collection called “idea books.” Users can also click upon any image to learn more about the designer or contractor, ask a question, and learn about products featured in the photo.

Co-founders Adi Tatarko and Alon Cohen, a husband and wife team, launched Houzz as a result of their own remodeling project. After struggling to describe their vision to their design team, they were told to buy books and magazines, and clip photos. “That wasn’t efficient at all,” Ms. Tatarko said, “because we couldn’t find enough images to show them what we wanted.”

In 2009, the couple, Silicon Valley natives, created an online platform to solve their problem. They asked bay-area designers, architects and contractors to upload their portfolios and Houzz was born.

Houzz also publishes an annual report offering an overview of renovation, custom decorating and building trends.

Paces Construction Co. is an award winning contributor to Houzz. In 2014 and 2015, Paces Construction has won top honors in both the design and customer service categories.
