About Paces Construction

Building on Buckhead Traditions

Paces Construction Company remodels and builds custom homes only in the Buckhead, Sandy Springs, Vinings and Brookhaven neighborhoods, where partners John Beach and Richard Everett grew up and now raise their families. help preserve their character and great quality of life. They personally manage their jobs, and because they focus on only a few nearby neighborhoods, they can be at each job frequently. Their Buckhead insider’s perspective helps them better understand the vision of their clients and the standard of quality their homes and families require.

Business Background

John and Richard were classmates and graduated together from The Lovett School.  After college, they both had corporate careers, advancing along different paths – John working in information technology management for a Fortune 25 company and Richard in management at one of the world’s largest advertising agencies. After successful careers they each wanted to leave the corporate world. Less business travel while participating more in family life, and working in an area that had always been a passion was important. For both it was construction and remodeling, and they already had extensive experience working on their own properties.

Experience and Professional Recognition

Paces Construction is listed by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as one of the city’s top 20 remodeling firms. They’ve gained recognition for innovative projects like the transformation of a 1930s residence into one of Atlanta’s largest EarthCraft remodeled homes. Their work has been featured in magazines and books, online, and in the Junior League Tour of Kitchens, and they’ve won eight OBIE Gold Professionalism awards from the Atlanta Home Builders Association for their work just around Buckhead.

Involvement in the Industry

They supported the licensing of builders in Georgia, and worked with the NAHB and Secretary of State’s office to implement this legislation.  John and Richard have been guest lecturers for the past 6 years at Georgia Tech in architecture and building construction classes. The company is an EarthCraft-certified, eco-friendly builder, and they encourage the use of new technologies to enhance and extend the life of older homes.
